The Intent
What it set out to prove
What happens when a piece is presented by something that was never designed to present anything. We wanted a container with its own history – rough where the metal is smooth, cold where the stone is warm.
The Approach
How it was built
An oyster shell held in an open hand, lit chiaroscuro from a single high side. The hand is not styled to disappear: the nails are lacquered, the grip is real. Everything behind falls to black so the shell reads as the only lit plane, and the stone as the only colour.
